Superior NASHA-gels.

NASHA stands for; Non-Animal-Stabilized-Hyaluronic Acid. This patented gel is the basis of all these products. Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide and is one of very few substances that is identical in all species and tissue types. It plays an important role in giving volume to the skin, shape to the eyes and elasticity to the joints. More than 27 million patients all over the world have been treated with hyaluronic acid based products. Its use is well documented in areas such as eye surgery and orthopedics.

Stabilized for long duration.

Each product contains the same high concentration of stabilized hyaluronic acid: 20 mg per ml. Why stabilize? Because without modification hyaluronic acid remains in tissue only a few days. Conversely, too much modification can negatively impact biocompatibility. Our NASHA gel is only stabilized to approximately 1%. This provides longer-lasting effects with minimal tissue disturbance. Nutrients, oxygen and hormones, are able to pass freely between the gel particles, leaving the skin healthy during the entire presence period.

Biodegradable, natural & safe.

All the products are biodegradable. The extremely effective stabilization method makes it possible to maintain more volume with less material over a longer period of time. As the NASHA is degraded, each molecule progressively binds more water (more free water-binding sites per molecule). This is known as isovolemic degradation. In practical terms it means that the implant volume is maintained until the hyaluronic acid is almost fully degraded. Since the body has its own system for absorbing hyaluronic acid, it disappears over time without a trace.

Non-animal, no testing needed

Because hyaluronic acid is identical in all living organisms, it offers very high biocompatibility. No animals however, are used as a source for our NASHA gel. Instead, it is biotechnologically produced by bacterial fermentation. There is therefore no risk of transmitting diseases between species, or eliciting allergic reactions in patients who are sensitized to common foods, such as beef, chickens and eggs.

This yields an additional and very significant benefit: No skin testing is needed with NASHA treatments.

The NASHA gels are stabilized. The stabilized material is a continuous 3-dimensional molecular network i.e. a true gel in any shape and form.

The products are isovolemically degraded because they can hold more water the less concentrated they are.

Always a choice

With biodegradable products you always meet two important psychological criteria with your patients: choice and non-permanence. When a patient is satisfied with an initial treatment they can choose to have a follow-up, whenever desired.
